This is my only picture for today. Over Thanksgiving weekend my husband, sister in law & her family and I took all our kids to the park. I had lots of fun taking pictures of the kids playing and some of the scenery. I thought this was a pretty cool photo so I made it my post today.

Body Parts

Well the theme for the WB photo contest this week is Body Parts and thankfully I've actually taken a few of those which means I can enter this week! So without further ado, here are a few of them.

Wow.........

Ok so as you have seen from my past few blog posts, I focus mainly on landscape type pictures. I love taking pictures of the sky, trees, flowers, etc. So a few nights ago after yet another bout of rain I happened to look out the window while cleaning up after dinner and saw this. I immediately ran to get my camera and ran outside to capture it.

Water

Water is beautiful isn't it?? There's something so tranquil and serene about it.........and I'm terrified of it. Well not all water obviously but I'm scared of deep water. I don't like it if I can't see the bottom. A pool swimmer I'll forever be.

However, I do love going to the beach. Mainly for the scenery. You can capture some wonderful pictures of the water, the people, the landscape.....

That being said, my best friend alerted me to a wonderful photo editing website http://www.picnik.com/ and I've been having so much fun with it! Today I'm only posting one picture but twice, the original and the edited one. Hubby says it would have looked better with footprints in the sand and I have to agree but oh well. Too late now. Maybe next time we're at the beach.

In our own backyard.........who knew??

So I got a new camera on Wednesday! I haven't been keeping up with my blog like I should have because I've been anxiously awaiting the purchase of my Nikon D60! Now with that taken care of, my hubby and I have been keeping ourselves busy taking the kids on daytrips, thereby giving us plenty of opportunities to test out the new camera.

On Wednesday night we took the kids to the beach and got some pictures of the water, the sunset and of course the kids playing. It was so cute to watch our oldest daughter using my old Kodak EasyShare. We may have a budding photographer on our hands!

Then on Thursday we took them to the Zoo. They had a great time but it was a very long day. We took tons of pictures of the animals but they would have been nicer if cages weren't in the way! (of course you have to appreciate it's safer that way though!!)

Finally yesterday hubby and I took a daytrip just for us-a belated anniversary celebration-up to the Collingwood Scenic Caves about an hour away. What a sight to be seen! It is beautiful up there! Hubby and I were completely in awe of the beauty of nature that is so close to home yet we've never seen before. It's amazing what you find in your own backyard when you go looking for it............

Rainy Day

Since we've been having a lot of rain lately I thought I would go with a raindrops theme. As I spent the day taking photos whenever inspiration hit me, I realized I needed to expand my theme to include the clouds. Dark clouds rolling out to make way for the sun was a beautiful photo opportunity. And so..........Raindrops became Rainy Day.

Just a few from Niagara Falls.....

Ok so we went to Niagara Falls over the August long weekend and had such a great time! My camera was practically glued to my hands and I took 95 pictures over the 2 days we were there! Now obviously some were not so good but I have a few that I'm very proud of and wanted to show them off here.
